Hi
Just wondering if anyone has stayed in mayrhofen for a few months. My friend and I are looking at staying Jan and Feb. If anyone can reccomend cheap accomodation that would be great.
Cheers

Hi there.
Whilst not a seasonnaire I've stayed in Mayrhofen around 15 times and the cheapest accomodation was Haus Georghine @ £12 a night b and b. Cheap and cheerful, I had a large room with sink and toilet with a shared bath/shower room across the hallway. Location was 2 mins from main Penken Gondola and ski bus stops to other ski areas - Ahorn and Horberg.
Breakfast was plentiful and I never had cause to complain. The old lady who runs the place does make sure you eat enough though, bless her!!
There are loads of other places around for similar money, but you may have to be prepared to stay a mile-or-so away from the centre. The bus service is frequent, reliable and free however.
Failing that, I did get talking to an English guy who was out there for 3 months a couple of years back and he had rented a caravan down the valley towards Zell am Ziller. It was very cheap and the train service is hourly and very easy to use (it stops at Mayrhofen.)
I hope thats of some help.
I love Mayrhofen - its what a ski resort should be in my opinion. I'm there from 16th Jan for a week and will be in Happy End from 4 every night. So you can buy me a beer to say thanks!!
Best of Luck!!

Something weird going on here;
And both have Mayrhofen and Sauze d'Oulx as their favorite resorts in their profile.
Even more weird, I'm going to Mayrhofen on the second week of Jan and Sauze d'Oulx on the First week of Feb.

TonyH and I are best mates and ski-buddies, who also share an unhealthy liking for football and Peroni!!
He and his missus are going to Mayrhofen 12/1/8 and I go out there 16/1/8 for a week. My partner didn't fancy it unfortunately (!??)
