Grenoble skiing

Hello, I am to visit Grenoble next week. I have no clue how the (snow) weather is like around Grenoble these days. Is it much too early to ski or are there places where I could find some snow?

I think Les Deux Alpes is the closest but it's not open until the Mondial I think on 27th Oct. Tignes is open and not such a long way from Grenoble.

You may want to check the LDA web site, I may be wrong about the opening.

The glacier at Alpe d'Huez will be open for one week commencing October 27th if the conditions permit. A larger part of the resort is scheduled to open on December 1st.
