Anyone know anything about restaurants/apres in Ellmau? Know the SkiWelt quite well but usually go to Söll - just looking at a couple of different options for this season. Don't want anything full on crazy but we enjoy lively apres. Many thanks

Like you I have mostly stayed in Soll when skiing in Skiwelt, so not visited Elmau to experience the apre. Been through the day a few times and it looks like a number of places that could be good for apre and there are bars at the base of the gondola.
Be Interesting to see what you make of it.
Soll seems to be getting 'gentrified' over the last 2 or 3 years. Less and less CrystalSki packages and lots of hotels are now either going B&B only or turning into to Apartments. The result of which is lots of people looking for restaurants in the evening, but not really enough premises to fill the need. Lots of bars have also closed in Soll over the last 3 years, along with the whisky, which was the premier clubbing spot. There are still places to go in Soll, but overall it is much quieter than it was and nowadays seems mostly aimed at the family self catering market.
The ski8ng in the Skiwelt is still excellent though.

Skied: On snow, On water, On mud, On slush, On ice. Oh, and on a few dry slopes.
