i've made my self a wobble board!
The idea being that it will help to improve balance and hopefully then allow me to ski with a slightly narrower stance which at the moment causes me a few issues. Early findings are that it's a lot easier with the legs bent and feet closer together. It also make my feet ache like hell which may also be a benefit. I generally suffer with aching foot arches on the first few mornings of a ski holiday. I had always assumed it was due to tension but the discovery of the same ache on the wobble board may indicate that it's something else.

I'll let you know the outcome!
I've no idea if this will work but...

Ellistine,
Great ski carrier, but DO NOT carry skis in the manner shown in picture. That is with tips up !!
Always carry tips down near car bumper since wind will "lift" skis up and one day the straps or suction cups will release"
Away go the skis!!!!!!
Also most skiers never expose their skis while driving to ski center. It is better to cover skis via a ski bag or ski wrap! I woild modify ski carrier to allow a ski bag!

I'd read about not facing the tips forward but I don't have enough clearance between the rear screen and the bindings.
Your right about the ski bag. I originally designed the carriers to be used with a ski bag but as I was only taking them to the local ski shop to be waxed for the summer they travelled naked.
The suction cups are quite amazing. Each pair has a 100kg capacity! I also have a central strap fastened to the car - just in case!

2 issues with the original post. First of all why do you want to ski with a narrow stance? Ski with whatever stance gives you your best balance, for most people this would be feet about shoulder width apart. Skiing with a narrow stance is dated (80s and early 90s style), not the most efficient with regard to ankle, knee and hip angulation, and most of all it looks mincey!
This 2nd point is far more important. DO NOT under any circumstances use those suction devices to attach your skis to your car. The elastic properties of rubber change dependent on temperature, you'll almost certainly lose the vacuum that is sticking your skis to the car during your journey. If these come flying off when you're travelling down the motorway at 80 mph your could end up killing someone behind you and end up on a manslaughter charge!

Ben,
I appreciate your concern - in both aspects. With regards to the narrow stance. I'm not trying to create a narrow stance that is any narrower than my hip width. My stance is currently wider than my hips and causes me problems with tight turns, especially in variable snow/powder etc. Carving is not a problem, it's just everything else!
As regards to the ski carrier, the main fastening to the car is via a strap that is tethered to two fastening points inside the boot. The suction cups are really there to act as a contact point on the car that aren't going to move. I think the risks you have highlighted are probably valid using purely the suction cups so to prevent other people having problems I'll remove the reference from the original post.
Thanks
