HI ALL...
NEW TO LATE SKIING, AND ABOUT TO GO TO SESTRIERE FOR A WEEK AT THE START OF EASTER.....WHEN DOES THE "SEASON" END, AND WHAT DOES THIS MEAN....WILL I STILL BE ABLE TO RENT SKIS/BOOTS, AND WHAT ABOUT LIFTS AND LIFT PASSES?
JUST A BIT CONCENED THAT IT MAY BE SHUT WHEN WE GET THERE....OR DOES THE LATE SNOW MEAN THAT THE SEASON WILL BE EXTENDED?
HEEEEELLLPPPPP... A BIT OF ADVICE WOULD BE GREAT

Sestriere being high will more than likely be open and snow should be ok. lift passes etc get in resort as they wont be too expensive and probably do the ski/boot hire when you are there as well.

Hi you could see if the resort has a dedicated website to look at webcams and obviously sign up here for snow reports/forecast as well. As for lift passes if the resort is open (likely) then they will sell you lift passes in resort - same goes for equipment. It might also be worth looking into a website snowrental - i think you could try it from one of the tabs at the top of this page - I got a huge saving off my equiment on line ( well from what Esprit ski was going to charge me at least) same with lift passes and lessons - go direct its amazing how much money you can save rather than through your tour operator for all the ancillaries. ( I saved somewhere in the region of £300+) just with a few clicks!
Finally have a great time and I hope you have lots of lovely fresh snow and beautifull sunny days! :-)

Well I have just come back from Sauze and the reps told us THIS week is the last of the season, but that was before the dumps at the weekend. It is likely that they will keep runs and rental places open, and Sauze is just across the valley from Sestriere, and there was plenty of snow and cold weather there last week.
You should be fine, but you never know with Italians, they do what they want when they want, and just shrug their shoulders!
Enjoy it, the skiing there is great, but Sauze is a far better place to stay. make sure you take a day trip over to Montgenevre also.
