HI
We are a large family group of 20+, (ages from 3yrs old to 75yrs) and I have been tasked with finding the ski location for our week long trip to celebrate a 40th and 60th birthday in FEB 08.
75% of the group will ski at least all day or 1/2days but remaining members of the group are non skiers. Of the skiers, 50% require ski school & 50% don't and need a good selection of Red runs (some black)
We need a resort that would not only cater for our ski needs but to occupy the non skiers or part time skiers - parents, grandparents and children during the day ?
We will be looking to stay in 1 or 2 catered chalets within a 1-2hr transfer time of a european airport
Your suggestions will be most appreciated, thank you
Ideal european ski resorts for the non skiers in the group?

Could be quite hard to come by with those needs. Somewhere like Chamonix is close to Geneva so non skiers are fine, people who want reds/black are in their element. Not sure about their ski school as i have heard nothing of it whatsoever.
Or somewhere like Zell am See/Saalbach/Kaprun. They are all near eachother, offer great skiing and are in a good location for visiting other places for the non skiers. Plus the Austrian ski schools are renowned for being really good, so there should be no problems there.

I would say Maria Alm which is near Saalbach and Kaprun Fly in to Salzburg.
Maria Alm has good Begginer adn intermediate skiing not too challenging for the expert skier.
The village is stunning and everything is central so non skiers can get about very easily and they can see the skiers whilst they are skiing both down the bottom by the lifts and up the mountain.
Very picturesque and very cheap.
Cheers
