Hi guys - many thanks in advance for any replies to this one. We all know how bad it was early season this year. I remember the BBC filming in December from the slopes showing lots of grass and warnings of how global warming is about to ruin the ski industry. I did ski in Obergurgl a few years back at Christmas and had no problems with conditions. Thing is I would really like to ski this Christmas 2007 and was wondering what you guys think the best bet would be. I'm assuming high obviously and sticking to the Val Thorens and Tignes etc but does anyone have experience of anywhere else. Would love to go to Italy as we will be back in La Plagne in Feb 2008 but have heard that Italy is erratic at the best of times.
Any suggestion would be gratefully receieved guys
Many Thanks

I did Obergurgl early December and Cervinia for Christmas. Conditions in both resorts were better then than any of the other 3 resorts I`ve been to since!! Onoly problem with Cervinia is when the weather closes in, the lifts shut and pistes become really really crowded, but if it`s not too windy and the lift stays open over to Zermatt, you can`t beat it. The resort is pleasant, quite compact and the restaurants are reasonable. I would recommend looking here.....J
A bad day on the slopes is better than a good day in the office !

I have never been anywhere early season, so cant really recommend places first hand, but obviously many people have to listen to them.
With this years snow being so sh1t, next years may well be really good. but of course everyone will have booked to go to the high resorts where it will be extremely crowded. so a good bet may be to wait till the next season comes and see what its like, then get a late deal as low places may be a lot better next season, even so early. at least then that gives you the back up plan of if it is crap again, go high!!
