We are going on the 24 February. Last time I placed a message there was only one reply. It looks like those who have been to Soll are too depressed to post an update on their return. Next week, when you are there not much new snow is forcast. Sorry, this sounds depressing, but this is the first time I have not gone snow sure and I am a little concerned. They had such good snow last year, that I took the risk this year. But I am not sure why the temperatures are so high this year. Of course you can blame global warming, but did they have a year off from global warming last year?

Arrived back on 10th Feb after a week in Soll. We had about 5cms worth of snow on the lower slopes when we were there and this seemed to help conditions - though some of the south facing slopes were showing bare patches as we neared the end of our trip. For best conditions in Soll itself, you should get up early and do a few warms ups on run 40 (top of Hohe Salve to top of the first gondola). Then head over towards Scheffau & Elmau which both have good snow and long varied runs (forget the piste map just follow the signs). Late afternoon conditions can get tricky because of the high temps but hey, that's half the fun.
Apres Ski all seems a bit tired in Whiskey Muhle and Salve Stadl so Rossini Bar is a good alternative. Also try the restaurant in the Hotel PostWirt for a great selection of steak dinners.
Happy Skiing :D

Thanks for the tips on where to find the best snow and avoid the bear patches.
