Am traveling to Cervinia with husband and 12year old on 26th Dec will have three suitcases and a f...off ski bag with 3pairs of skis. Does anyone know of any local car hire or is getting picked up the best way to get from t'airport?

Which airport*, and what time's your flight due in?
There may be public transport or shuttle bus options, although with 3 of you plus bags then car hire is probably cost effective.
[* - Turin Cuneo or Turin Caselle?]

Turin Caselle and its due in at 9.35 am. At the moment it's working out the same price as our flights near enough.

We have twice hired a car to drive to and from Cervinia. It's an easy drive but the last few miles can be tricky in the snow. Make sure you have snow chains if you choose to drive. Also, if driving, ask the hotel if you can leave your car in their underground carpark (if they have one) - in case it snows a lot. I've seen the central carpark buried under snow:-)

If you have the option i would recommend beeing picked up or taking bus since you might have trouble driving a rented car under these conditions (might be lots of snow and ice there)
