Hi all.

This might be a nice easy one but I'd rather get it right. I'm taking the wife and youngling to Morzine next year. Can anyone advise on how easy bus travel is? If it's like other resorts it should be easy but if anyone can help that would be great. We don't want to ski over, it will be a 'midweek break', so to speak.
Thanks
Steve

Iceman's there now, and knows the area well so should be able to give a definitive answer.

I've not been there for a while, but from memory the (free) ski bus runs from Morzine centre to the foot of the Prodains lift, or you can go by bus round to Lindarets? Not sure on timings but I do remember that they didn't run very late so you needed to be off the mountain pretty promptly when the lifts shut (unless you ski back, obviously).

Hi

Currently sitting in geneva airport for 2.5 hours so have a few minutes to reply

Adders is correct, the best way is a bus to prodains lift. The cable car that has recently been updated. Going to lindarets is probably not a good option.

The bus service as a whole in morzine is very good but does finish early. Getting to avoriaz on the bus to prodains is the best option.

The other option would be to go up the super morzine and ski there. It does not take more than 10 minutes and depending on what side of avoriaz you want to ski it can be a better option. If you want to do lindarets, mossettes or into Switzerland IT would be preferable to the prodain.

If you are only going for a few days, there is plenty of good skiing to be had in morzine and les gets that are linked. How long are you there for?

I read this morning that there are talks of a linking lift from morzine to avoriaz - something that is needed!

2hrs 20 to go ;)

Thanks for the info Ice. We are going for a week next year. Like I said it was only to have a midweek break for the boy, a day out at Aquarius in Avoriaz is on the cards.
Thanks for your help and safe journey home.

Disagree Iceman on Lindarets, you can still use the Prodains lift and it could be much quicker depending on where you are staying in Morzine. Its only a short chair from the top to the Lindarets bowl.
The swiss side is easy to get too as well, you go via the wall......but you wouldn't know about that would you ;-)
