Hi anyone,

We are travelling to Mayrhofen at the end of Dec and will be there for New Years Eve. Any suggestions for what we should or shouldn't do. With out lack of preparation last year in Val Thorens we ended up having a dodgy meal which we could've done without.

Suggestions please :D

I don't have any info specifically about Mayrhofen but New Years Eve is huge in Austria. There is usually a massive party everywhere. Expect fireworks at midnight .

I would have a look around the better local hotels. Most of them will have a gala dinner that evening often with music and dancing. Expect to pay a good bit but it will probably be worth it

No "Auld Lang Syne" - instead you will get a Strauss medley

Research restaurants and book well in advance to avoid dodgy meals :) happens everywhere when you don't know a place where are you going and your choice is limited because everywhere worth going to will be full.
