Skiing in soll

This is my first time on the forum but I 've seen some really good advise being given so here goes.

I fly out to Soll on Saturday morning and was wondering if anyone had been there and if so what is it like.

More so is there any snow there yet???

Hi Steve, I went to Soll about 6 years ago. After many skiing holidays in the French resorts I found Soll a real change, I couldn't get to grips with having to walk through slush in the town (because it is so much lower than the ski area) and having to catch a bus to the bottom of the main lift system. I was so used to ski to and from the door in France. However, this said the ski area is good and well linked once you are on the mountain. Beware the bonging church bell if your accommodation is anywhere near it. Good cakes in the many shops. I don't go in for the rowdy night life but our friends do and they weren't disappointed!! Have a great time.

i was there in 05 and boy is it good!!! the town is quite wide spread so you can be near or far from the slopes. Just as isabelle said you can link up really well with other resorts i.e. elmau,going brixten etc ( i think, if thats right :roll: lol)in the town try the whiskey mhule bar its good, with quizes etc taking part there. some great skiing to be done and YES there finally is some snow lol check it out on this address:

Also anyone bin to alpbach before, just few miles from soll, im off there on the 30th and wondering what its like?

Thanks to you both for the advise its really appreciated and thanks for the weather link I can get a nights sleep at last not a lot though I fly tonight so hopefully this time tommorrow I should be just getting into the Whiskey Mhule for some apri ski. Hope you have agood time in Alpbach.
