3 days, 21 hrs 48 mins to lift off. The seconds drag by, then as soon as you arrive, time goes into warp speed mode.
What's going on there then?
So, so excited.
Skied: On snow, On water, On mud, On slush, On ice. Oh, and on a few dry slopes.

Doug,
Time and speed are so relative.
You discover that in skiing.
The faster you ski,,,,the slower time seems to be.
The faster you ski,,,,the softer you must be.

Time a perfect ski run often lasts a lifetime.

Enjoy discovering this.

Well I thought I had it sorted this year. Last year we went 2nd week in jan, so first week dragged. So this year I thought if we go the first week, that will drag like it did last year..... Oh how wrong.
Down to 2 days 20hrs and still dragging.
Skied: On snow, On water, On mud, On slush, On ice. Oh, and on a few dry slopes.

Doug, right on the button here mate. I normally count the days and look forward so so much to my ski trip. However, for the first time in living memory this year, I have somehow allowed it to almost creep up on me, and now have 10 days to go. Last time I remember thinking seriously about it, we were down to 50 days. But now I am thinking about it, these last 10 days will creep by really slow now.

And the worst thing is exactly like you say, next thing you know you'll be checking in at the airport on the RETURN FLIGHT HOME !!!!!!

It doesn't seem long since we had 100 days to go, suddenly we have less than 100 hours....

I am still trying to resist packing my bag for skiing on Saturday. If I pack too soon the time drags, it has to be a night before ritual which is almost like the start of the holiday.

We are bringing it forward this year by driving to the airport the day before and staying in a hotel, so actually the holiday starts when I pack tomorrow night (and the snow will be falling Saturday - just hope we can get to the resort!)
I can see my house from here...
