30 kg of luggage is quite a lot. If it were me I would save my £35 and take less.
If I fly with boots I stuff them full of socks, hats, gloves and put them in my suitcase.
Some people carry them on as hand luggage.
Or you could always book them on as another piece of luggage if your airline gives you that option (assuming that works out cheaper than winter sports equipment) you'd need to check it out.

Mothy, which airline is it?
Normally you can take a suitcase and a bootbag up to 20kg combined, and pay extra for ski bags. Some airlines like BA allow you 23kg one bag which can include skis.

Yeah TH is right - apart from the likes of the budget airlines, most let you take 20kg as a combined weight. I usually fly with EasyJet where it is 20KG in one bag. However, I am off away in 4 weeks with Crystal and am allowed to take 20kg across numerous bags plus hand baggage. Not sure if i will get away with boots as hand baggage so may well have to pack them

Icy, I flew thomson with crystal last month, and some people had boot bags as hand luggage, others put them in with their cases which makes up part of the 20kg max allowance. Hand luggage is supposed to be 5kg max but no one weighed it or even looked at it tbh. I guess that depends on the staff and where you fly from though.
