can any one tell me a little more about mountain boarding? I found this info on the good food ride and would love to learn more!

It can hurt! Make sure you've got good body armour/protection!

We went out with some of our guests who had hired a couple of boards out this autumn and I have to say that it was great fun and you could apply similar techniques that you use for snowboarding. The boards that we were using had a large wheel at the front and back with two smaller "outrigger" wheels that prevented the rig from flipping over and also had a leashed handle attached to an hydraulic brake to help you control the speed. It was a lot easier to control once you had picked up a bit of speed though! I can't remember the make of these boards but I can find out if you're interested.

This was over here in La Clusaz, but I know there are a number of mountain boarding clubs in the UK. There is one that meets regularly at White Horse Hill on the Ridgeway in Oxfordshire.

Hope you don't get too many bruises,
Dave
