I've booked flights to Bergamo for the 2nd week in December(9th - 15th) but I've just been onto the tourist office in Passo Tonale and they've told me they are having unusually good weather, theres no snow and its too warm to use snow machines. My trip is only 2.5 weeks away do you think thats enough time for the situation to change?? I thought Passo Tonale would be my best option for early season or is there a better resort option from Bergamo.
(I was skiing in Passo Tonale back in March and had a great time)

If I`m honest, the only place i would say has a chance for that time is some of the Austrian resorts...weather is look set to stay mild!Trouble is things change dramatically within days, but if I were you I would source some cheap flights to Innsbruck and have those on standby. Can you cancel your hotel??? Sorry to not sound more positive but all the cams in Italy are looking rather forlorn and long term forecasts are not predicted to drop dramatically enought ot get the snow machines on....Not being a local, just having been there in the past, I couldn`t offer any more than a nervous guess that it`ll take some seriously snowy days to come in to make it an enjoyable week.

Hey thanks for being honest! At the moment all i've booked were flights and was about to book my hotel in Passo Tonale but after reading that it sounds like I should just cut my loses on the flight and forget about Italy???

Hey Comet
As I said, things change so quickly and the last couple of days has seen change everywhere....If I was you, I would wait until last minute to book accommodation..it`ll be realtively easy to get cos of time of year!!Otherwise book it, but check the cancellation policy!! We are also skiing 9th Dec for 1 week, and I have booked flights to Innsbruck and Geneva to hedge my bets next week!! ( Cheap ones mind!)
Some places have had some good snow this week, but even in some open resorts, there is due rain up to 1830!! So could be a shaky start this year!

yeah sounds like a plan, i've nothing to lose anyway i suppose. I'll wait and see if the snow comes if it does i'll grab some accomodation if not i'll cancel the flights.
I'm dreaming of a white December.
I hope you get your snow too!
