Hi Peeps, i'm off to Cervinia, Hotel Des Guides in a couple of weeks. Anyone been there, is it any good, i'm a lower intermediate, so going for a bit of cruising / confidence building as it's supposed to have lots of long easy reds. Any one got any recommendations for ski hire / eating out etc, i'd be grateful to hear.
TIA
Mac

Not skiied there for years but sounds like you're at an ideal level to make the most of it. You can cruise for miles in fantastic scenery, there will be loads of snow... and just about everywhere is a good place to eat!
It's popular with day trippers and weekenders so avoid the peak times if you're driving up.
Top tip, as with Courmayeur, is to ski at lunchtime (at least on Saturday and Sunday). Italians love to ski, but they love to lunch even more. So grab a bite to eat at 11 and ski the empyting pistes from half 12 til 3 (then you can grab a coffee!) while they're in the restaurants.
Oh, and the coffee's great!

Yep, sure am thanks. It was great, lovely runs everwhere. The conditions were pretty much perfect and really allowed both myself and the mrs to improve our technique ten fold. I'd recommend Cervinia to anyone looking for great skiing and is an intermediate or below. It's true what they say, Cervinia is a real confidence builder ;)
In fact, i've just booked another last minute cheapie to Soldeu in Andorra for the week after next. If that's half as good as Cervinia i'll be happy!
