In this day of internet scams, of false promises,,, of "gone bad deals" here is a story that will lift your spirits !
I had 15 pair of skis on loan from a major ski company for a project I had initiated! The weather did not cooperate so most skis just gathered dust! I had the choice of returning the skis to company or pass along the deal to others.
Near end of this season, I posted a message offering skis to anyone who was going to be at the resort I was going to be for two weeks! Price was 40% below store cost price !
Two response on net! The first all negative,,some vulgar,,,,some "suggesting I was Nigerian skier,,etc,,,," Impossible prices for 2013 skis! Bull !!!
The second type was more mature with initial questions on skis, on price and on me ! A meeting was set and 5 pair were sold two weeks later at base lodge!
One skier missed initial message,,missed meetings but still wanted skis!
We spoke on phone and a trust was created! He sent a cheque via snail mail and I send skis before getting cheque !
There are still honest skiers around!
There are still great deals around !
You just have to be mature enough to know what trust looks like!
What a nice feeling to trust another ! ( mind you not blind trust,,,,,,)
So if you see a man on a 2013 powder ski smiling,,, happy as he soars on +30 cm. of powder, ask him,,,,,if he believes in human trust !
A true Pavel story!
