Just for your information: I am not racing, I just love skiing. And recently my interest in the ski itsself has increased. The more I learn about it, the more fascinating it gets.
I would like to try to prepare skis myself, because last year in Wengen, I have tried a pair of tuned skis. This was quite an eye-opening experience for me to see this level of grip, response and linearity.

Anyway, I am planning to give it a try on 2 old pairs of skis. The problem remains that I have not even seen, or payed attention to, someone preparing a ski. That is where the video should be usefull in order to get some practice. Then, this winter I want to find an experienced person who can show me in real.
Your offer to show the basic steps sounds fantastic, but I live in Europe, Belgium. I will check your idea with the travel agency...

Most of the tools I did collect already. Do you have any advice on files? To me they all look the same at the moment. As for the wax, is there a superior brand of wax or are they all nearly equal for their specific temperature range?

The only article about ski tuning I have read until now is the one from this website: http://www.sidecut.com/index_en.html. Also the info in the Atomic brochure looks usefull.
Otherwise it is hard to find decent material about ski tuning. --> good books/articles?
