Well, back from my first day day in val thorens. What a great day, went far too quickly!!
Question about my boots. Today they felt a bit uncomfortable. The soles of my feet were aching! Is this because I have not worn them for 2 years or somethin else?
Or am I just unfit?!

Well, i don't think fitness extends to your feet. Of course i could be wrong.
My feet ache sometimes across the sole, towards the ball. Its more of a cramp type of pain and i though it was because the boot was too tight and was squeezing my foot. Then i spoke to CEM (colin) once that told me that it was more likely that i needed more padding under my arches as lifting here stops the foot spreading out when you put your weight down.
You can see this effect when you stand barefoot on a flat hard floor.
I don't think anyone will be able to say what the issue is in your case, only a boot fitter with access to your foot will be able to help.
Hope you had a great day, good to hear the weather is holding up for you.

In the morning my boots were too tight, I loosened them off at lunch. I think it improved things, but then I had pain in my quads instead!
I always find first day hard!! Tomorrow is the one, forecast to ne fab weather again!

As you are in the 3 v's then I can recommend an ace bootfitter. He is based in Reberty and the shop is called Pied de Piste or something like that. The guy is called Alfonso he will most definitely be able to tell you what the problem is and make it better.
He is so good that I will be booking a trip to the 3 v's when I need new boots again, just so he can fit them.

Snapzz did actually say in his first post that he is in VT.
Yes I did edit it as you made me realise that 'if you are' could be interpreted as a question (even though there was no question mark). You have to understand that I am from South East London!
