Gosh !!!
mini panic attacks ?????
I'd say you are doing extraordinarily well - I'm into full blown panic attacks
And I'm not skiing until March
But you have picked a resort with an excellent chance of something nice to ski on so I expect all will be well when you get there - maybe not a "classic" week for the snow but, hey ho !!
Dont worry, great news this sunday!!

Not looking too good at the moment is it, and it doesn't look like it's going to get better any time soon. There is no snow forecast for the next 14 days. 69km of piste is already open and Gornergrat will open at the weekend.
Even in a normal year Zermatt doesn't get that much snow. (The large inner-alpine valleys like the Susa and Aosta valleys in western Italy, the Rhone valley (Switzerland), the Inn valley (Austria) and the Adige valley (northern Italy) all are quite dry. The driest regions are those valleys which lead off the main valleys into the high mountain massifs (i.e. Mattertal, Engadin, Oetztal, Vinschgau).
Normally this wouldn't be too much of a problem as they have extensive snow making facilities, but it's still very warm. The daytime freezing level is at around 3000m so they can only make snow at night and even then only on shaded runs, as the sunny slopes haven't frozen yet. By the time you get there, there should be more runs open, but I wouldn't expect that you will be able to ski back to the village.

Most of this panic is from people who have booked to ski in the first half of December when the snow has always been a tad hit or miss
