Hi,
I'm trying to find the ultimate ski resort in which to spend my birthday, which is 3 days after Christmas. I adore Christmas so I'd prefer a resort that goes all out to celebrate the holiday. I am from Oz so I'm not fussy as to Europe, Canada or America. After all, they're all hours away from here. I'd like to stay in the village in order to soak up the atmosphere but be close by the slopes and be able to ski each day without having to drive anywhere. A short shuttle bus ride from one part of town to another would be okay though.
Hopefully someone out there can recommend some places to look at. I've looked into Chamonix but it doesn't seem to have much in the way of beginner runs (only one in the Brevent area) and hubby is not that confident on skis.
Thank you in advance.
Cheers,
Carlyle :D

Hi Carlyle
I think you are then looking for the following a place with the following
atmosphere
close to the slopes
stay in a village
no t/fers to the ski area
i would then suggest Mürren 1650-3000m,Switzerland - http://www.muerren.ch
snow sure, car free and stunning views - a true alpine ski resort
