Any recommendations for good ski socks for the larger calf? My poor old bridgedale walking socks are getting a bit long in the tooth now, yet they are the only ones that "really fit" if you know what I mean.
I like a full length, medium thickness sock, and as stated plenty of room in the calf area.
Having bought numerous pairs of expensive "professional" socks in the past which have without exception turned out to be too tight, I was hoping someone out there has had similar trouble, and could help me out with a good recommendation!
Many thanks

I've got a mix of ski socks, but the Merino wool ones are the best. My latest purchase were Falke.
I avoid the Salomon ones as they shrink badly when washed and tend to be tight on the calves.

Interesting, I too have fairly big calves, along with fairly big everywhere else as well  , and I use Salomon socks which I have had for the last few years with no shrinkage whatsoever.
I also have a bunch of "proper" ski socks which I got in Marks & Spencers 4 or 5 years ago, but sadly I have not seen them in their shops since.

I found these people last year when looking for size 13 socks for my little boy

Phoned them and they were very helpful in telling me which would be best etc.
Bought myself some new ones as well, just because .....
No idea what brand but they have left and right on them
Never had socks that are foot specific before.

I use Thorlo ski socks as they seem a bit longer than other brands and just seem more comfortable, as well. I go for the thin ones, although I do have a pair of their thicker socks, for the end of the week, as well.
Unlike the Wickham-meister, I wear a clean pair each and every day!
