We are very excited to finally get a snow report, making our ski trip more of a reality. Can anyone help with advice on the most efficient way of getting between Stuben and CHamonix?? We were hoping there may be a bus or mini-van service between towns... any ideas? (Or would flying from Innsbruck to Geneva be the easiest??). Any ideas would be appreciated!! KangaSki 8)

It's close on 500km between the two destinations. So, that's through Austria, then into Switzerland, and then France.

I imagine that there are long distance buses serving the major cities. Rail might be a good option as far as Geneva (airport), then you could choose to catch a Bus/Minibus for the 1 1/2 hours transfer to Chamonix, or go via Lausanne and change at Martigny for the service across the Border towards Vallorcine.

Or fly to GVA and get a transfer from there.

Hi Bandit! Thanks for that suggestion. We've caught the Chamonix express from Geneva airport before and it's very efficient, but haven't been to Stuben before. Rail sounds like a good option if there aren't too many changes - I'll investigate further. (I'd really like someone to take us door to door!!!). thanks! KangaSki

There are no direct flights from Innsbruck to Geneva and the only door to door option would be a taxi which would cost about 1000 Euro. As well as using public transport, which would take all day and involve at least 4 changes you could take the Arlberg Express coach to Zürich airport and fly (or take the train) from there.
