The final week of my season has now been booked. St. Anton. We're a mixed group ranging from nervous intermediates to one Ski Pro (not me I might add).

Not all of us have our own gear and Intersport seems mega expensive looking at prices? Is there anywhere more reasonable I can point my friends in the direction off? I don't think our chalet is in the best location but we were trying to keep costs down it's meant to be 10 minutes walk to Nasserein gondola but has a ski bus stop directly outside.

Any hints and tips would be greatly appreciated.

The neighbour town Pettneu is only about 4 kilometers from St Anton away and there is a regular ski bus.
You will get the same equipment cheaper as in St Anton! We used Matts ski hire shop in Pettneu http://www.alpinresorts.com/en/ski-rental/austria/tyrol/pettneu/sporthaus-matt
Take a look on it

Hints and tips for ski rental I cannot help with.
However, I might be able to provide you with some advice on the St Anton ski area.
You'll also have a good laugh with a nervous intermediate as its a steep, busy and difficult ski area generally!
I'm going with a mate who might regard himself as a nervous intermediate. He will probably never get off the one blue that runs down to our hotel, hence his Tour Nickname "One Run" 8)
Not a place for the faint hearted. Get them in the Mooserwirt......the inhibitions may soon disappear!!!!

Get in the Mooserwirt or the Krazy Kangaroo - and then ski down in the dark! The perfect cure for a nervous intermediate!!!

A few of our nervous intermediates found themselves on the Schindlerkar by mistake. I'd describe it as a 'character building' run.

It's in Austria
It's expensive
It's great fun
It's full of Gucci skiers (you know, one run, 5 glasses of champagne, 3 pairs of sunglasses, fur, and that's just the blokes)
It's pistes are badly or wrongly marked
It's got good connections
It's somewhere I wanna go back to, the sliding is great!

I disagree with point 3. I'd say its more full of backpack and shovel skiers. You know, queuing at first lift, mountaineering jackets on (Haglofs probably), radios, skins)
I didn't find it that expensive either, a lot cheaper than anywhere in France other than Serre Che from my own personal experience anyway

Tino, we're there 3rd March for a week, come and slide with us
