Like lots of UK resident skiers, I've used an Annual Travel Policy with their skiing add-on for quite a while. My current Policy covers 17 days of skiing per trip with no limit on the number of trips.
So that's any number of 17 day skiing slots per season.
The company have changed the wording on the website for new Policies to 17 days skiing per Policy year.
The price has gone up quite a bit too.
Time to start looking around!

I have recommended this Insurer to other skiers in past years, I'm withdrawing my recommendation, because of the changes to the Policies.

There's some background info that you might find useful here: http://www.ukclimbing.com/news/item.php?id=59881 The Austrian Alpine Club's scheme might be worth a look http://www.aacuk.org.uk/benefits.aspx

Thanks Swingbeep, both are very interesting :D
It does look as though the BMC are actively discouraging skiers and snowboarders through their pricing structure. It's a shame IMV, it's the benchmark policy in the UK.
