I have a pair of Blizzard Firebird V-Matic (non UK model, bought in Austria) for sale - these are ideal as a first pair of skis for a keen beginner - early intermediate who wants to own their own pair of planks, but who doesn't want to spend a lot of money on something they don't know huge amounts about.
They could also make a decent pair of skis for someone who wants to ski on a dry slope.

They are 4 years old, but have not seem too much action. I skied on them for 3 weeks over 2 seasons before advancing onto something else, and then a mate of mine skied them for a couple of weeks (although to be fair he hardly did any skiing on them!)
They have been well cared for and serviced regularly, and only once had a base grind. They are in need of a service to prep them for use again with one or two scrapes on the bases, but otherwise they are in god condition. The edges will come up fine after a service too.

They are black and red and grey in colour.

Full spec:
159 length - ideal for someone who likes a shorter ski or someone who is a little shorter! I am 5 foot 8 and they come up to my chin roughly.
14m radius so reasonably short turns.
Tips - 108mm
Underfoot - 68mm
Tails - 97mm
Bindings - good quality Fischer FS10

I don't have any poles to sell with them, it is skis only. They will be going on ebay later today, starting at £50. If they are any use to anyone on here first, please PM me or just jump onto ebay and search for Blizzard V Matic skis and join the bidding.

Depending on where you are in the UK, I could deliver them to you on one of my trips, but otherwise they are local pick up only (near Peterborough) or extra for courier delivery (roughly £15)

Cheers

I note in a previous post (own planks yay or nay) you give a load of advice including - don't buy 2nd hand.

I appreciate you've given a history of these skis you have for sale - for that reason would you say buying 2nd hand would be ok?

Personally, I wouldn't, but I have some skis which are not going to be used by me, and someone might benefit from perhaps having some cheap ones to have a go on as first timers, or maybe someone wants a pair for dry slope skiing.
I think if you know the history of the skis if buying 2nd hand, it makes a huge difference. In this case they've had little usage and only 1 base grind, so plenty of life left in them for the right kind of buyer.

A decent 2nd hand pair for around 50 quid has to be worth a go. Cost more to hire some.
8 weeks use isn't much when you consider that only takes you to around half a season for a rental pair.

I've bought 2nd hand pairs for my kids - at the ski club where they did a bit of racing the other kids were always pushing their parents for a new pair - I picked up some real bargains!
£70 for 2 pairs of SL11 atomics - lasted my kids a few seasons and were still good when they outgrew them.
