Look folks, I really need some help here. You maybe are aware that I don't really care too much what I ski on. So far, this season, I have skied on seven different sets of skis, varying in length from 158s to 200s. The skis I used in my first season were 210 Kneissl White Stars. So I think I know about long skis.

Well, that all cuts no ice with a friend of mine. He treats 215s as blades. He skis seriously loooong skis.

Anyway, his current pair are getting a bit worn on the edges, the bases are railed, and the top surfaces are worn down to the wood base layer. He also thinks they are a bit short for him. Have a look at the condition of his skis, (I took this photo in Niederau) Let me know if you can help him.....

I think it is a wee flag, but then we have a better view of it than he had! This is Urban, a ski instructor, one of the strongest men I have ever skied with. Fasching week, 1972-ish.
He actually did ski down the Gugwiesen with these on his feet!
Just don't ask what radius the edges are.....

looks like a first for rocker skis to me. I think the flags were to keep track of where the tips are in deep powder
because I'm so inclined .....

Trencher, nice idea for the flag!
I dropped this on to my FB site, and a friend responded "I have just the sport for him" ~ my friend is the British skiing speed record holder, and now the fastest skier in Canada.
Yes, I could just see these going down the speed gun!

Dave I think your friend should make some kind of sea-going vessel out of the skis. The sail is already in place so not much more work to do. He could then sell it and buy brand spanking new skis out of the proceeds.
I wish I could meet the person who first decided to strap 2 planks to their feet and throw themselves down a mountain
