Should I take a lesson?

Definately agree with Max.

Lessons are vital especially as you have only skied once 6 years ago, and chances are you will be rather rusty now!

More learning towards safety of you and others to be honest, you will more then likely suddenly find yourself in a situation where you need to react extremely quickly, which only experience will teach you. A big crash or an injury would dent your confidence loads, and potentially injure someone else - worst case scenario!!

Also lessons are pretty much the only way of developing the correct technique, and developing a technique that will progress with the weeks you ski in the future.
I have never been anywhere early season, so cant really recommend places first hand, but obviously many people have to listen to them.

With this years snow being so sh1t, next years may well be really good. but of course everyone will have booked to go to the high resorts where it will be extremely crowded. so a good bet may be to wait till the next season comes and see what its like, then get a late deal as low places may be a lot better next season, even so early. at least then that gives you the back up plan of if it is crap again, go high!!

The sales begin now in most big snowsport ratailers, ie. Snow and Rock, Ellis Brigham etc.

Prices are slashed as they are preparing for all of next years stuff to arrive, so there are many good bargains to be had if you look for them!!
1. Chamonix
2. St Anton
3. Verbier?
4. Val d'Isere
5. Tignes

Many others have amazing off piste, obviously Tignes has loads. All the above have great off piste. St. Foy in France is good for off-piste.

I will try think of more, and everyone else...

One part of you wants to say how amazing it is...but the other half wants to keep it secret to "preserve" it!
Yeah Tignes, or anywhere high, France has most high resorts. Val Thorens, La Plagne, Les Arcs, then Obergurgl, Obertauern etc. Whats somewhere like Sestriere like in April?? I know Cervinia is good because i have a friend who goes there most Easters and she says its usually brilliant.
Is there a RIGHT and LEFT ski

Some of the Atomic skis have a tips that are curved more to the left/right, i cant find any pics at the moment, but i know they exist and i am sure you have seen them to.

This helps ensure that the same ski is worn on the same foot all the time.
