It was on our lift pass when we skied in Neustift, nothing stands out particularly, but it was just before New Year, -20 degrees and got dark v early. I do remember hanging around for ages to get a bus back to Neustift - I am sure it is OK, but this was my experience.

Glad I have made you smile Discodee!! :D

On the Piste is the best documentary ever that the BBC made - a fly on the wall piece about 1 group in Soll, Austria and the others of the DHO (v posh Downhill Only Club) in Wengen - search for it in Youtube - absolutely priceless. I had a tape of it which has disintegrated as it has been loaned out so much! Why the BBC don't repeat it every ski season I will never know - the clothes and hair may have changed but the beginners have not!! Never seen my dad laugh so much in his life, bless him!!

I always slap on stuff - P20 is highly recommended for skiers as it is non-greasy and lasts all day, so you don't sit on the gondola looking like a chip!!
We skied Sierra Nevada in Spain (or Sol y Nieve as it is now) and it is very high. I thought I had put factor 15 on but in fact it was 8, and so I had the most horrendous sunburn, even inside my ears, and up my nostrils - it was awful. I started my new job on the Monday and went in with a peeling face and ears - not a good look!! P20 is highly recommended for skiers and can be bought at airports, Ebay and some chemists. |
Good, I am impressed you have remembered that bit! )

I am going to print of Marksman's wise words and keep them with me! There will come a point where it will all go 't*ts up!' - usually Black Thursday, so I shall just read those few words, find myself an easy slope and sort myself out for the day - and come home with a grin on my face as per usual! :D :D
Meanwhile OH will have had several 'encounters', a few wipe outs and called someone a t**t in assorted lauguages! And so we will retire to the bar.. |
