I don't know about ovaltine, but I'm hoping they'll give me a decent cup of tea - with milk. I really hate those herbal teas they serve in France - in something like a glass with no milk in it

Thanks Bandit :D

I've never heard of a Mutzig. Ever since they tried giving me that ***** stuff in a glass in La Rosiere I've always asked for English Breakfast tea, with milk, and that seems to do the trick. But I will try saying Mutzig when I'm in a French cafe/restaurant in Tignes and see what they say.

But I don't suppose they will ever give me a whole teapot to myself, never mind what I say

At least I should be okay for proper tea in the Bonjour chalet :D

The others will get free wine with their evening meal so I'm presuming that means I will get free tea.

Edit
Now we're on a new page I'd just like to remind any newcomers to this thread that we are still looking for more J2Skiers to join us in Tignes in January :D

Tony,
Don't worry, we are doing okay :D

We currently have enough people in our group to half fill the chalet. This means that there is still room for other people to join the holiday if they would like to.

I intend to repeat the notice explaining this every time we get onto a new page, because otherwise J2Skiers who haven't read the entire thread will not know this.

However, as I explained on the first page, we do not have to fill the chalet. The owners will simply let the surplus rooms to other people, at no loss to me or anyone else in the group.

I think myself that things are going pretty well, considering this is the first time (as far as I know) that anyone has actually managed to organize a group J2ski holiday on this website.

I will be going out to Tignes Les Boisses (the next village up from Les Brevieres) myself, in a couple of weeks for 3 days ski-ing. I will be able to continue to organize things for this holiday from Les Boisses because the chalet I'm going to has a computer.

So - I will go and have a look at the chalet Bonjour-Bonjour and check out the Underground Bar etc.

Happy Easter everybody :D

Please remember this is a working holiday Ally !!
Many people will be looking forward to your views and getting "distracted" by protracted and repeated visits to the Underground will be a distraction. Please do not spend your days just checking out the availability of "Mutzig" and milk !!
I have some personal requests ....
Time from lift to Chalet in ski boots!
Quality of coffee in Chalet.
Temperature of hot tub.

Oh and does the hire shop they use have the BBR 8.9 @176 on hire

Good morning Andy :D

I am beginning to become a little suspicious about this 'Mutzig'. Are you and Bandit quite sure it's the local brand of tea (we really need to get that wink working again)?

I will make a special note to bring a thermometer with me (on my working holiday) to check the temperature of the hot tub for you, and faithfully carry out your other requests.

There are a few things I want to find out for myself as well.

There seems to be a very curious arrangement whereby the chairlift Les Brevieres that goes up to Les Boisses doubles as the free ski shuttle bus and carries both pedestrians and skiers without the need for a ski pass.

I don't see why the shuttle bus doesn't just continue down
to the village from Les Boisses - unless there's no room for it to turn around or something?

However, it does mean that beginners will save a lot of money on lift passes. They can start on the free drag lift Pitots whilst they're still on the nursery slope, and then progress to using this free chairlift and ski-ing/boarding down the long blue run from Les Boisses to Les Brevieres. And if they want to go further afield they can take the free shuttle bus from Les Boisses to Val Claret and Le Lac which also have free chair lifts according to the Tignes Tourist Board.

It seems one doesn't need a ski pass to use the free bus - all that is required is that you are temporarily resident in one of the Tignes villages.

And I also want to check out the times of the bus that connects Val d'Isere to Tignes. I know there is one because my daughter's uni group got a bit carried away ski-ing on the Val d'Isere side and missed the last lift connection back to Tignes and had to take a bus. She said they had to pay something, but it was pretty minimal.

Yes - I am going to have to do a lot of 'work' on this holiday

And, it is about time that I learned how to ski on slush!
