Good thing about that area is you can get to Geneva reasonably cheap most days of the week via Swiss Air from Heathrow...(other carriers are available!)which includes ski carriage. There are a couple of transfer companies that do reasonable deals to the Aosta Valley but I have used Aosta Express, (other carriers are available!)a door to door service for about 50 Euros each way. Full weeks Lift pass which covers La Thuile, La Rosiere also gives 2 days in Pila, Courmayeur or any other of the Aosta resorts.
Carving leaves me all on edge

Depending on where your short stay group are flying into, the owners of hotel du Champoluc will help to arrange transfers if you book direct with the hotel. They did this for a party we met who were staying Monday to Friday and flew in & out of Turin with one of the no frills airlines.

Thanks for all the replies and great information.

Decided on La Thuile as it's a bit easier for the gropi only doing four days.
Really looking forward to it and about Champlouc for e next trip.
When in doubt?....Flat out.

It's got to be Champoluc, have skied both resorts frequently and even with it's link to La Roz as the Brits like to call it, it's really no great shakes. Champoluc a real hidden gem, It's a fantastic area and a real taste of what italy has to offer from the great food at great prices, to the friendly lifties, oh yea the skiing is ace. Like long runs and awe inspiring off piste, scenery and lifts to blow your mind. That'll be the Champoluc area then.

Booked the Boton D'Or in La Thuile last night for a trip on March 2. The Planibel is convenient but a bit soul-less and has something of the look of an Eastern bloc apartment building. Aosta Express from Geneva is a very convenient way of getting there. Day trip to Courmayeur on the free bus is excellent but wouldn't bother with the trip to Pila. The ski is ok, but not really worth the time spent on the journey.
